Fisher Galleries is thrilled to present the highly anticipated solo show of Peter Hackett.

The Honeymooners' Bed emerged as an idea for artist Peter Hackett several years ago while passing a mass seeding of wild flowers on the side of the motorway. It was during this time that Peter attended the marriage of a close friend and was subsumed with an aspiration to replicate an overwhelming emotive desire.

Substantial volumes of oil paint on large canvases undeniably evoke the senses and portray the incomparable beauty of nature. One often finds it difficult to restrain from touching the work Peter employs a layering and built up technique second to none.

Hackett studied at the Paris American Academy in Paris, France directly out of high school. The liberally renowned art school was the catalyst to the unrestrained experimentation evident today in Hackett’s work. Well versed in various mediums, Hackett is also a respected figurative painter yet cannot pry himself from the current body of work incorporating a style that is so distinctly his own.

The Honeymooners' Bed 2008 is Hackett’s third solo exhibition with Fisher Galleries. He has exhibited internationally in the USA, France, Australia and Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch within New Zealand.
